Cookie Management

COOKIE POLICY

1. Definitions and characteristics of cookies

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the User send and record on their device (computer, smartphone or tablet), to be then retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit.
 Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the actions and preferences of the User (such as, for example, login details, chosen language, font size, other display settings), so that it is not necessary to re-enter them when the User returns to visit it or navigates from one page to another on the website.
 Cookies are therefore used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information relating to the activities of Users who access a site.

2. Types of cookies used by the Website

The belenergia.com website uses the following types of cookies:

  • Technical cookies (necessary): these are essential for the proper functioning of the Website and allow navigation and use of the content. Without these cookies, the services requested by the User (e.g. authentication for restricted areas) could not be provided.
  • Analytical cookies: these collect information, in aggregate and anonymous form, on the number of Users and how they visit the Website (e.g. most visited pages, time spent on the site, traffic source). They are used exclusively to improve the performance of the Website and the quality of the services offered.
  • Profiling cookies (if activated): these aim to create profiles relating to the User and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed during navigation. The use of these cookies requires the User's explicit consent.

 3. Legal basis for processing

The use of technical cookies is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in ensuring the proper functioning of the Website.
 The use of analytical and profiling cookies is based on the consent given by the User through the short information banner, in accordance with Article 6 of the GDPR.

 4. Management of preferences

When first accessing the Website, the User may:

  • accept all cookies by clicking on the "Accept" button;
  • refuse or manage their preferences by clicking on 'Cookie settings';
  • change their preferences at any time by accessing the dedicated section in the footer of the Website.

The User can also set their browser to receive a warning before cookies are installed, automatically block their installation or delete cookies already on the device.

5. Retention period

  • Technical cookies have a limited duration, lasting only for the browsing session.
  • Analytical and profiling cookies may have a variable duration, but in any case no longer than 24 months, in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Authority.

 6. Communication and transfer of data

The data collected through cookies is not disclosed, but may be communicated to parties who process data on behalf of Belenergia as data processors (e.g. IT service providers).
 No transfer of data outside the European Economic Area is envisaged, unless adequate safeguards are in place in accordance with Articles 44 et seq. of the GDPR.

 7. User rights

At any time, the User may exercise the rights recognised by Articles 15-22 of the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
