BelEnergia joins Energy Release 2.0 in partnership with Esperto Energia

BelEnergia S.p.A. announced its participation in the Energy Release 2.0 program, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and managed by the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), through a strategic partnership with Esperto Energia S.r.l., a consultancy specialized in the industrial energy sector.

In January 2025, Esperto Energia aggregated part of its energy‑intensive clients, presenting in February an expression of interest to the GSE procedure for a total consumption of about 673 GWh over three years. The partnership with BelEnergia, launched in January 2025, enabled participation in the program with a significant aggregated client portfolio.

BelEnergia committed to building and operating new renewable energy plants needed to return the advanced energy, with an installed capacity of up to 48 MW in Southern Italy, depending on the energy awarded by GSE.

Energy Release 2.0 is a government mechanism that anticipates electricity at capped prices for three years, requiring participating companies to develop new renewable plants and return the advanced energy over the following 20 years.

Jacques‑Edouard Lévy, CEO of BelEnergia, highlighted that the initiative supports both the energy transition and industrial competitiveness, mentioning Distilleria Bartin S.r.l. as an example of BelEnergia’s energy‑intensive subsidiaries also involved in the program.

This collaboration marks BelEnergia’s first concrete application of the Energy Release 2.0 mechanism and aligns with its broader strategy combining FER X tenders, Energy Release, and Grid Parity projects through tailored agreements.
